Lesson 1

The Whole Scriptures (QAOTAV) Were Written

In Pure Language – the Hebrew

50 Truths and Proofs

1.     The Old Covenant (Testament) and the New Covenant, were originally written in Hebrew Language. The New Testament was translated  merely into Greek about 300 A.D. and later to Latin and other languages.

2.     YAOHUSHUA (pronounce as ‘yaw-hoo-shoo-ah’) and His disciples all spoke Hebrew and lived within the YAOHU-dim (Jewish) mindset, natural language and culture.  YAOHUSHUA never spoke Greek and so his disciples.  It is merely  a big assumption of theologians and pastors who studied Greek because the Scriptures were translated from Hebrew into Greek and the translations were adopted instead of the original writings.

3.     Paul’s original letters were written in Hebrew.  Many people are ignorant of the fact that the early believers were of wholly YAOHU-dim (Jewish) origin (Romans 11:17) and Ulhim (pronounced as ‘ool-heem’ means mighty and powerful) as entrusted the Jews with His oracles, His intentions and His utterances (Romans 3:2). ‘He declares His Word to YAOHU-caf (Jacob); His statutes and His ordinances to Yaoshorul (poetic/archaic name of Israel). He has not dealt with any other nation; they have not known His ordinances. Praise YAOHU Ulhim Yaoshorul (Psalm 147:19 & 20).

4.     The YAOHU-dim (pronounced as ‘yaw-hoo-deem’ means modern ‘Jews’ the corrupted term for Hebrew people) living in YAOHU-shuaoleym (Jerusalem) during the time of YAOHUSHUA and his disciples spoke and read Hebrew. It was one of the three main languages of the day and it is inconceivable to think that the high priests and the dedicated Jews spoke any other language. When YAOHUSHUA preached in the synagogue, He would have spoken in Hebrew. Hebrew was frequently spoken and was written everywhere during the days of the New Covenant.  ‘There was an inscription above Him in letters of Greek, Latin and Hebrew: “This is the King of the Jews’” (Luke 23:38). And many of the Jews read this title for the place where YAOHUSHUA was hanged was near the city (Jerusalem), and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin and in Greek’ (John 19:13, 17, 19 & 20). Further, there are untranslated Hebrew words taken in the Greek New Testament which are spoken by the Messiah and the disciples: Amen (Surely, or so be it - Mat 5:18): Abba ("dearest father"); Messiah ("Anointed one"); Rabbi ("my teacher" - Mat 23:7); hosanna ("Save! We beseech");  Talitha cumi ("maid arise" – Mark 5:14); ephphatha ("be opened"); corban ("a dedicated gift"); Sabbath ("repose", "desist" from exertion - Mat 12:1); Satan ("adversary"- Mat 4:10); mammon ("riches"); raca ("to spit in one's face"- Mat 5:22); cummin (herb); Maranatha ("Master, I pray you overthrow"); Passover ("pass over"- Mat 26:2); Emmanuel (title meaning "El with us"); Eli lama Sabachthani ("my El, why have you forsaken me?"), Bethesda (John 5:2), Gabbatha (”the Pavement” John 9:13), Hallelujah (“Praise Yah”- Rev 19:1),   Golgotha (‘Place of a Skull” – John 19:17)    and many others.  HERE IT SAYS DIRECTLY, WITHOUT ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER THAT YAOHUSHUA DID NOT SPEAK GREEK NOR ARAMAIC, BUT HEBREW! Aramaic is nowhere mentioned in the New Testament. Whom should one trust: man/pastor/priest or YAOHUSHUA Himself?  And obviously Shaul (later Apostle Paul, in English) understood Hebrew, who was educated at the feet of a Hebrew speaking scholar.  All added proofs that Hebrew was very active in Israel during the times of YAOHUSHUA and beyond.

5.     Paul spoke and preached in Hebrew and could not even speak Greek. ‘Just as Paul was about to be taken to the barracks, he asked the commandant, “May I say something to you?” The commandant replied, “Can you speak Greek? Are you the Egyptian who not long ago stirred up a rebellion and led those 4,000 men who were cutthroats into the wilderness?” Paul answered, “I am a YAOHU-di (Jew) from Tarsus … I beg you allow me to address the people.”  ‘And when the commandant had granted Paul permission, Paul standing on the steps, gestured with his hand to the people and there was a hush. Then Paul spoke to them in Hebrew saying: “Brethren and fathers, listen to the defence which I now make in your presence.” And when they heard that Paul addressed them in the Hebrew tongue, they were all the more quiet, and he continued …’” (Acts 21:37 to 40 on to Acts 22:1 & 2). The commandant obviously mistook Paul for someone else who was Egyptian, but we see that Paul had to gesture to the people to be quiet because he could not speak the language and it stands to reason, that when he began preaching in the Hebrew tongue, he would have continued preaching in Hebrew. If he could have spoken in Greek, why didn’t he preach in Greek and not in Hebrew? It also stands to reason that  the book of Acts was written in Hebrew, because it is a record of what Paul was saying. If Paul could not speak Greek, logically, he couldn’t write in Greek either and again logically, the epistles written by Paul were written in Hebrew. Another point here is; Paul often wrote in his own hand and rarely used a scribe, except as it is recorded in Romans 16:22. Read the verses that tell us Paul wrote in his own hand; 1 Corinthians 16:21; 2 Corinthians 13:10; Colossians 4:18; 2 Thessalonians 3:17 and Philemon 1:21. In Philippians 3:5, Paul says he was born of the race of Israel, a Hebrew from the tribe of Benjamin.

6.     YAOHUSHUA the Messiah spoke to Paul (Shaul) in the Hebrew language as Paul himself testifies. That would make sense if, as we have seen already, Paul could not speak Greek. ‘And when we had all fallen to the ground, I (Paul) heard a voice in the Hebrew tongue saying to me, “Shaul, Shaul why do you persecute Me?” (Acts 26:14).

7.     YAOHUSHUA the Messiah spoke Hebrew in Mark 14:36 while He was praying. He called Ulhim “Abba.” Abba is the Hebrew word for a close paternal endearment. A little bit like we would say ‘Father’, but with respect, reverence and adoration. Paul repeated the same Hebrew word ‘Abba’ in two of the epistles that he wrote; Romans 8:15 and Galatians 4:6. Obviously then, these epistles were written in Hebrew.

8.     If we have a quick study of language, we see that every language and culture has its own structure and idioms, and Hebrew is no exception. The idioms within a particular language are fully comprehensive in that language and in no other. What we are trying to show here, is that the New Testament’s original language was neither Greek nor was it Aramaic. To look at the history of the time, Israel had only recently overcome the might of the Greek/Syrian Empire and was then under the control of the Roman Empire. The Greek/Syrian Empire tried to force every person in their territory to speak Greek, however the Jews refused and after a mighty battle (the war of the Maccabees), the Jews retained their own land and their own unique language, while everyone else spoke Greek and Aramaic, which was the native Syrian language. When the Romans invaded, Latin was then introduced, but the Jews continued to speak Hebrew and retained their own culture.

9.     YAOHUSHUA the Messiah was born after the fall of the Grecian Empire and soon after the start of the Roman Empire; blending the two cultures. But, as we read earlier, Hebrew, Latin and Greek were still spoken regularly, in the same way that in today’s Israel, Hebrew, Arabic and English are spoken. Since it is recorded in the scriptures that during YAOHUSHUA and his disciples’ time, the Jews spoke, read and wrote in the same Hebrew the Old Testament was written in, it is only natural that the New Testament should also be written in Hebrew. We are after all, dealing with the same country, race, culture, people and language.

10. The Dead Sea Scrolls found in the Judean wilderness included 40,000 fragments of scrolls, 600 partial manuscripts, 80 Old Testament chapters and the famous Temple Scroll and almost all of these writings were written in Hebrew. Out of the nine Hebrew scrolls, or 179 modern A4 pages, only the equivalent of 22 pages were in Aramaic. The Dead Sea scrolls state quite clearly that Hebrew was the language spoken and written at the time of YAOHUSHUA. There have been 5,366 manuscripts of the New Testament discovered written in Greek, and they all differ from one another and contain hundreds of variants, as they would if they were translations. In each of these manuscripts there are language idioms which are meaningless in Greek and only make sense in the Hebrew language. This can only be explained because they were all originally written in Hebrew and the content of the idioms were lost in translation.

11. When the four eyewitnesses to YAOHUSHUA’s ministry, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John recorded their testimonies in writing, they would have written in Hebrew because as we have seen, Jews at that time spoke, read and wrote in Hebrew. It wouldn’t make sense to write their testimonies down in any other language because they were writing it down for the Jewish people. The good news didn’t go out to the Gentiles for a few years afterwards and Greeks were Gentiles.

12. To quote four ancient Christians who were church elders: Irenaeus; Elder of Lions, Gaul (now France) (120 – 202 AD) “Matthew indeed, produced his Gospel written among the Hebrews in their own dialect.” Papias; Elder of Hierapolis (circa 150 AD) “Matthew put down the words of the Lord in the Hebrew language and others have translated them, each as best as he could.” Origen; (circa 225 AD) “The first Gospel composed in the Hebrew language was written by Matthew for those who came to faith from Judaism.” Eusebius; Elder of Caesarea (circa 325 AD) “Matthew had first preached to the Hebrews and when he was about to go to others also, he transmitted his Gospel in writing in his native language.” Ephiphanius and Jerome both translated the scriptures into Latin from Hebrew!

13. Looking at Hebraic idioms, one of the most common is the phrase ‘Son of man’. Although well known in most languages, it is misunderstood and does not really mean anything except in Hebrew. In Genesis 5:2 we see that the first man was named Adam, which in Hebrew, translates as ‘red or earthly man’. When YAOHUSHUA referred to Himself as the ‘Son of Man’, He would have said in Hebrew ‘Ben Adam’ which literally means ‘Son of Adam’. ‘Thus it is written; the first Adam became a living soul and the last Adam (YAOHUSHUA) became a life-giving Spirit’ (1 Corinthians 15:45). In Luke 3:38 we see that Adam was referred to as the Son of Ulhim and we know YAOHUSHUA, the last Adam, is the Son of Ulhim. The phrase ‘son of man’ is written about 92 times in the Old Testament and 43 times in the New Testament.

14. Further proof that YAOHUSHUA the Messiah spoke in Hebrew is found in Matthew 5:18; “Not one ‘jot’ and not one ‘tittle’ will pass away…” Only the Jews would have understood that idiom because it is from the Hebrew language. The ‘jot’ and ‘tittle’ are definitely not punctuation marks in the English language. YAOHUSHUA spoke Hebrew and was referring to two letters in the Hebrew alphabet. A ‘jot’ in the Hebrew language is translated as ‘yod’ and is written like an upside down, capital ‘L’ and is the smallest of all the Hebrew letters. The ‘tittle’ is a tiny curve at the top of a letter like this ~ and is little more than a tiny stroke of a pen. The tittle was called the ‘thorn’ of the yod. So we can see that YAOHUSHUA was definitely speaking in Hebrew when He said that about the ‘jot’ and ‘tittle’, and definitely not in Greek. It makes no sense in Greek. If we can understand this, what YAOHUSHUA was saying was, “Not the tiniest letter or the notch on a letter will disappear from the law until everything has been completed – according to the will and purposes of Ulhim.”

15. It is often said that the New Testament was written in uneducated (Koine) Greek, which is an inferior kind of Greek. That would seem the case if it were translated from the original language, Hebrew, into Greek and Aramaic, which make the Hebraic idioms meaningless. Another idiom is ‘Shalom’ which is still today, the most common Jewish greeting. Only in Hebrew does it make any real sense. The true translation of ‘Shalom’ into English is ‘Peace be to you’. In English we would say, ‘Hello, how are you?’ not ‘Peace be to you’ for that phrase is not spoken in our culture; neither is it spoken in Greek. Two main idioms of the Hebrew language/culture is answering a question with another question as YAOHUSHUA did many times, and repeating oneself, either using the same words, or forming another sentence which means the same as the first sentence. YAOHUSHUA did both.’

16. YAOHUSHUA answered the Sanhedrin by asking another question in Luke 20:3; ‘And He answered and said to them, “I will also ask you a question. Now answer Me’.” Again in Matthew 19:3 & 4, when the Pharisees asked YAOHUSHUA about the legalities of divorce in Hebrew culture, YAOHUSHUA answered their question with another question; “Have you never read …?”  YAOHUSHUA repeated Himself in Matthew 27:46; “Uli, Uli, lama sabachthani?” which in English translates as “My Ul, My Ul, why have You forsaken Me?.” If we take note here: YAOHUSHUA spoke those words in Hebrew. The bystanders (the Romans who spoke Latin) could not understand what YAOHUSHUA was crying out and thought He was calling for ULi-YAOHU (Elijah). There is another sensible piece of logic to think about here. At the time YAOHUSHUA cried out, He would have been in extreme agony. He had just endured the most prolonged, agonizing physical battering; He was hungry, thirsty, exhausted and in severe pain. He would not have stopped to think about what language He was using to cry out. In that situation, it is logical, He would have cried out in His most familiar tongue – the Hebrew language He was raised with at home with His parents. YAOHUSHUA cried out in Hebrew, and because He used Hebrew to voice His despair of the moment, so Hebrew would have logically been His first language.

17. The theory that the New Testament was written in Greek is a very modern theory, and was non-existent prior to 400 AD. When YAOHUSHUA said in Revelation 1:8 & 11, and again in 22:13, “I am the Alpha and Omega” which are Greek words, it does not mean YAOHUSHUA actually said that in the Greek language. Modern theorists have taken those words as ‘proof’ YAOHUSHUA spoke Greek so therefore they assume whole New Testament was written in Greek. That is an awfully big assumption. YAOHUSHUA certainly said those words, but He said it in Hebrew and the words were later translated from Hebrew into Greek. Let’s look into this. The Hebrew alphabet begins with the two characters; aleph and beth. Written together, they are remarkably like the first two Greek characters; alpha and beta. The last letter of the Hebrew ‘aleph-beth’ (alphabet) is Tav. Translated, it means He is the Beginning and the End, and His end on earth as a flesh and blood human, was the staurus. It is more logical for YAOHUSHUA to have said, “I Am the Aleph – Tav” than for Him to have said it in Greek.

18. There is no more ‘proof’ YAOHUSHUA spoke Greek than there is ‘proof’ the Israelites spoke Egyptian once they had exited Egypt. It is written that YAOHU-saf (Joseph) spoke Egyptian because he spoke to his family through an interpreter (Genesis 42:23). It is logical that Mehushua (Moses) spoke both Egyptian and Hebrew because he was raised as an Egyptian prince and was educated in the Egyptian language, but once he left Egypt, he must have clung to the Hebrew language because we know that he wrote the first five books of the Scriptures in Hebrew. The YAOHU Ulhim told Moses to write everything down stage by stage, rehearse it with YAOHU-shua (Joshua), read it to the people and record the covenant so it could be kept by Israel (Exodus 17:14; 24:4 & 7; 34:27; Numbers 33:2). The fact that the Old Testament was written in Hebrew is proof enough that the Jews spoke Hebrew. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew right up to Malachi, the last book in the Old Testament which was penned about 430 BC. There was no break in the Hebrew language between the writing of Malachi and the war of the Maccabees in 160 BC. The war of the Maccabees was a rebellion against the Greek/Syrian Empire when they tried unsuccessfully to force the Jews to speak Greek and Aramaic (the Syrian language) and worship Greek Gods. The Jews won the war! Israel was made an independent nation and the Jews continued with their own language and culture. It is not logical to assume that after fighting to retain their own language and culture, that the Jews would abandon it such a short time later. On the contrary, as we read in the New Testament, the written and spoken Hebrew language was everywhere. The Hebrew language is the only language spoken in the synagogues when they read out the Hebrew scriptures just as YAOHUSHUA did in Luke 4:15 to 22. It is written there that YAOHUSHUA taught in the synagogue. He would have taught the Jews in their native tongue of Hebrew.

19. There is also not one verse in the whole of the New Testament, where it is said that YAOHUSHUA  spoke Greek or Aramaic, but it is recorded several times that He spoke Hebrew. To fill in the whole of what YAOHUSHUA said in Revelation 22:13, we have to look at the whole sentence where His comment was repeated in three different ways; “I Am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” We all know the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, so now turn to Isaiah 41:4; “I, The YAOHU Ulhim – the First and the Last – I Am He.” In Isaiah 44:6; “Thus says YAOHU- Ulhim, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Ruler of hosts; I Am the First and I Am the Last; besides Me there is no Ulhim.” Isaiah 48:12; “Listen to Me, My called ones; I Am He; I Am the First, I Am also the Last.” All of these quotes from the Old Testament were written in Hebrew in the exact same words YAOHUSHUA spoke, and they have all been translated from the Hebrew into other languages.

20.  There is no proof that the New Testament was ever written in Greek and Aramaic – but there is proof it was translated from an original language into Greek, because the translations are so inferior. Mass printing did not exist 2,000 years ago, so all the copies of Paul’s epistles were written by hand. There have been a few extremely fragile letters discovered in the original Hebrew text that are exactly the same as other letters written by Paul. There are no variants in the Hebrew-written letters, like there is in the letters translated into Koine Greek. The assumption that the New Testament was written in Greek and Aramaic, was probably based on prejudices, and that attitude is prevalent in some churches today. The shocking and despicable history of the Christian church has had a consistent record of incessant anti-Semitism. From the beginning, there has been an evil motion away from anything Jewish. Even today, those who insist that the New Testament was written in Greek, have a very hard and incorrect attitude towards the Jews and Israel – almost to the point where they deny the church’s Jewish roots. They forget that the promise was made to Abraham – who was a Hebrew and the father of the Hebrews (Genesis 14:13). His great-grandson (Abraham – YAOHU-tzak (Isaac) – YAOHU-caf (Jacob) – YAOHU-dah (Judah) is where the YAOHU-dim (Jews) obtain their name. YAOHUSHUA springs from the tribe of Judah (Hebrews 7:14). A sustained campaign of de-Judaisation began with the Romans and continues to this day. The Romans tried to erase any trace of the Jews from Judea and Israel. Then after cruelly slaughtering thousands of Jews and expelling them, they then named the land Palestine. Israel is not Palestine. It is consistently called Israel in the Scriptures and that has never changed! From then on, Jews have been blamed for terrible things they would never do. The name of our Messiah in Hebrew is YAOHUSHUA not Jesus in Zechariah, which is Greek. He was given the new name of Jesu as part of the campaign to de-Judaise the New Testament. The name of one of YAOHUSHUA’s brothers was YAOHU-caf (Jacob), or in Hebrew; . When the King James Bible was translated into English, the people who were translating it, substituted the name Jacob for James in deference to the King who had commissioned the work. Originally, the epistle of James was the epistle of Jacob. The Greek and Aramaic theories were not isolated mistakes, but very definitely a centuries-old campaign to de-Judaise the scriptures and make the church Jew-free, despite the fact the church is worshipping the Jewish Mighty of Israel and the promised Messiah who was born in Israel – a Jewish Man from the tribe of Judah.

21. The whole Scripture was written by YAOHU-dim (Jewish men) in the ancient language of Hebrew. Here is another point to ponder. ‘The Ulhim of heaven shall set up a Kingdom which shall never be destroyed, nor shall its sovereignty be left to another people’ (Daniel 2:44). The sovereignty will never be left to any other nation – nor will it be left to another nation’s language. YAOHU Ulhim never dealt with any other nation – so it is not logical He would allow the Jewish salvation message to be preached – initially – in any other than the Hebrew language. The scriptures record that the Jews told non-Jews what Ulhim was saying; in essence, the Jews interpreted Ulhim’s will. We need to notice one important fact: YAOHU Ulhim never once, throughout the whole Scriptures, used an interpreter when He was speaking to His people, the YAOHU-dim (Jews). Here is another question relating to the Hebrew language. Is Hebrew spoken in heaven?  Does this seem too far-reaching? Let’s look at some scriptures that show Hebrew is indeed spoken in heaven. There are so many scriptures that tell us about Ulhim speaking directly to people we can not add all of them, but here are a few. We do not know what language Noah’s family spoke, but we do know their experiences were recorded in Hebrew, as they were written by Moses at the YAOHU Ulhim’s instruction. Noah’s son  Shem was the ancestor of Eber, from whom the Hebrews spring from. Eber is mentioned in Genesis 11:21, 24 & 25. In Genesis 11:7 & 8 we read that the YAOHU Ulhim confused the languages because of the sin that was unfolding due to the fact that every person spoke one language, and the population was then scattered upon the whole earth. Continuing from Genesis 11:10 to 26, we read the lineage of the Hebrews from Shem, right through to Abraham, and verses 14 to 17 again mention Eber. We can now safely deduce that Abraham’s family all spoke Hebrew, from at least Eber to Abraham, and we know that Abraham spoke Hebrew. Look at Genesis 12:1; YAOHU Ulhim said to Abram …’ Since we know Abraham spoke Hebrew and for him to understand what Ulhim was saying, logically speaking, YAOHU Ulhim must have spoken to Abraham in Hebrew. Genesis 18:1 to 33; YAOHU Ulhim appeared to Abraham in the form of a Man (YAOHUSHUA) and they had a lengthy conversation. How did Abraham understand the  Son of YAOHU Ulhim unless He spoke to Abraham in Hebrew? Genesis 22:11; the Molaokee (Angel) of the YAOHU Ulhim called to Abraham from heaven, so again, Hebrew is shown to be spoken in heaven. The Molaokee (Angel) of the YAOHU Ulhim  was YAOHUSHUA before He was born on earth.

22. From Exodus chapter 3, right through to Deuteronomy chapter 34, we read about YAOHU Ulhim and Mehushua (Moses) speaking together dozens of times. Moses spoke Hebrew, he wrote his five books in Hebrew, so logically, Ulhim spoke to him in Hebrew.

23. Yaoshua-YAOHU (Isaiah) 6:3 tells us about how Isaiah himself was able to look into heaven. He saw Ulhim on His throne and heard seraphim worshipping Ulhim saying, “Holy, holy, holy is YAOHU UL Tzavulyao (Archaic Hebrew for Ruler of hosts); the whole earth is filled with His glory.” Remember, Isaiah was looking into the throne room in heaven; so how did Isaiah understand what the seraphim were saying unless they were speaking in Hebrew? In Kozoqiul (archaic Hebrew of Ezekiel) 1:1 to 27, we read about how Ezekiel saw into heaven. In verse 28 he heard a voice and fell on his face, then in 2:1 the Holy Spirit entered Ezekiel, spoke to him and set him upon his feet and then spoke to him about the children of Israel. YAOHU Ulhim spoke to Ezekiel numerous times after that. Ezekiel spoke Hebrew, so their conversations must have been in Hebrew for Ezekiel to understand. Turn to Dayan-UL (Archaic Hebrew of Daniel) 10:5 to 12:13. There we read about a very long conversation Daniel had with an angel about Israel. Again we ask, how did Daniel understand what the angel was saying unless the angel was speaking Hebrew?

24. In Shoftim (Judges) 6:12 to 21, the Molaokee (Angel) of the YAOHU Ulhim  (YAOHUSHUA) spoke to Gideon and they spoke for some time before YAOHUSHUA vanished from his sight. Again, their conversation must have been in Hebrew for Gideon to have understood.

25. In Luke 1:11 to 20 we read how Zochar-YAOHU (Archaic Hebrew name for Zachariah) and the Archangel Gaborul (Archaic Hebrew name for Gabriel) chatted about the upcoming birth of John the Baptist. Further on in Luke 1:26 to 38, Gabriel told Mary about the birth of YAOHUSHUA. As we know, the Jews spoke Hebrew, so Gabriel, the Archangel sent from heaven must have spoken Hebrew so they could understand him.

26. We know that the disciple YAOHU-khanam (Archaic Hebrew name of John) and YAOHUSHUA had a very close friendship while YAOHUSHUA was on earth. In Revelation 1:9; YAOHUSHUA is in heaven, but we have YAOHUSHUA communicating to John through an angel. John spoke Hebrew so the angel must have, for John to have understood him. In Revelation 4:1, John describes his vision of heaven. Further on in the same chapter, we read in verse 8 where the four living creatures worship YAOHU Ulhim day and night by saying, “Holy, holy, holy is YAOHU Ulhim (The Almighty), Who was and Who is and Who is to come.” Then in verses 10 & 11 the twenty-four elders cry out, “Worthy are You, our YAOHU Ulhim, to receive the glory and the honour and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were created.” The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders must have been worshipping in Hebrew for John to have understood what they were saying. The twenty-four elders were all Jewish men who had spoken Hebrew while on earth – so it is logical they would continue to speak Hebrew in heaven.

27. The existence of the transcript of the Book of Matthew in Hebrew, which predates any manuscripts we have in Koinia Greek. (Koinia Greek was the Greek in Rome at the time of YAOHUSHUA. It is from the Koinia Greek that we have our current translations - the ones they say are the originals). This fact alone has to make us rethink if Greek was indeed the original language of the New Testament. It obviously wasn't.

28. I Josephus Wars 5:9:2 (Josephus lived during the time of YAOHUSHUA and even references Him as well as John the Baptist) we see that Josephus testifies that the people didn't even understand Greek. He had to translate what the Greek speaking Romans had to say to the Jews in order for them to surrender. In other words... they didn't know Greek!

29. The Hebrew has always been considered the "Pure (Holy) language". The Scribes in Israel during the New Testament era also believed this. Writings that were considered to be holy were written in Hebrew, this was a given. Why would Holy Writ be done in a language of the pagans? Sure, later on there would be copies written in Greek for those who spoke Greek as their first language.

30.  The Church Fathers attest to this over and over again:  Papias (150-170 C.E.)  Matthew composed the words in the Hebrew dialect, and each translated as he was able.  (quoted by Eusebius Eccl. Hist. 3:39) ; Ireneus (170 C.E.) Matthew also issued a written Gospel among the Hebrews in their own dialect.  (Irenaeus; Against Heresies 3:1); Origen (c. 210 C.E.) The first [Gospel] is written according to Matthew, the same that was once a tax collector, but afterwards an emissary of the Messiah, who having published it for the Jewish believers, wrote it in Hebrew. (quoted by Eusebius; Eccl. Hist. 6:25); Eusebius (c. 315 C.E.) Matthew also, having first proclaimed the Gospel in Hebrew, when on the point of going also to the other nations, committed it to writing in his native tongue, and thus supplied the want of his presence to them by his writings.  (Eusebius; Eccl. Hist. 3:24); Epiphanius (370 C.E.)  They [the Nazarenes] have the Gospel according to Matthew quite complete in Hebrew, for this Gospel is certainly still preserved among them as it was first written, in Hebrew letters.  (Epiphanius; Panarion 29:9:4); and Jerome (382 C.E.)  "Matthew, who is also Levi, and from a tax collector came to be an emissary first of all evangelists composed a Gospel of Messiah in Judea in the Hebrew language and letters, for the benefit of those of the circumcision who had believed, who translated it into Greek is not sufficiently ascertained.  Furthermore, the Hebrew itself is preserved to this day in the library at Caesarea, which the martyr Pamphilus so diligently collected.  I also was allowed by the Nazarenes who use this volume in the Syrian city of Borea to copy it.  In which is to be remarked that, wherever the evangelist... makes use of the testimonies.

It is undisputable! Of course it was written in Hebrew, as was anything else during that time that was considered Holy. It was all written in Mishnaic Hebrew. There are currently three different kinds of Hebrew. There is Biblical Hebrew, which is what was used in Old Testament times. Then there was Mishnaic Hebrew, which is where we get our modern Hebrew block letters from (called Mishnaic as it was during the time of the compilation of the Mishna, the Oral Law) and modern Hebrew which is what is spoken in Israel today. Mishnaic Hebrew was the common language of the time and Mishnaic Hebrew is what the New Testament was written in. Not Greek! Why is this important? Because it shows that the Greek manuscripts that we use are... a translation.

31. Other sources testifying to Hebrew being the language of 1st century Jews and a Hebrew origin of the "New Testament" documents include:

·        Recent Qumran findings (Dead Sea Scrolls) shows secular documents written at that time concerning "current events" (i.e., not just copies of old religious texts.) indicating Hebrew was a "living" language.

·        Jewish coins found from that era are minted with Hebrew text on them.

·        AA study of the writings of the Christian "Church Fathers" shows that much of the "New Testament" was written in Hebrew. This includes direct statements made by; Papias, Ireneus, Origin, Eusubius, Epiphaneus, Jerome and Clement of Alexandria.

·        The prominent first century historian Josephus wrote in both his books, Antiquities and Wars, that Hebrew was the language of first century Jews and that they did not know Greek. (In fact there is a Jewish tradition saying it is better to eat swine than learn Greek.)

32. YAOHU Ulhim said that in the latter days knowledge would increase. And it has, hasn’t it? We know far more about early-day conditions and customs now than our predecessors did. Remember that the Greeks were pagans and the Jews considered the Greek language an abomination. The Jewish authorities declared that it was worse to learn the Greek language than to eat swine’s flesh! And they forbad the teaching of it. It is also a difficult language Even Josephus, an educated Jewish historian of that era, wrote in his commentary that the Greek language was so difficult that he never gained much proficiency in it. So why would YAOHU Ulhim choose a pagan, foreign tongue to reveal His New Testament plan? Especially to His own people, only a smattering of whom knew or understood the Greek language, and most of them hated it. Consider, too His disciples. They didn’t have much education, remember. They had been mostly simple fishermen from Galilee before YAOHUSHUA called them to be disciples. The priests, Sadducees, Pharisees, and other YAOHU-di officials considered them “ignorant and uneducated men,” Acts 4:13. The King James Bible says “unlearned and ignorant men.”  So why would YAOHU Ulhim inspire them to write His Son’s biography of the greatest life ever lived, and the greatest event since Creation, in a language that the Jews hated, and that the apostles could not have known? Doesn’t make sense, does it?

33. E. W. Bullinger, in his Companion Bible, Appendix 94, makes the statement that “while the language is Greek, the thoughts and idioms are Hebrew.” Apostle Paul stated that the New Testament Believers “....are built  upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, YAOHUSHUA the Messiah Himself being the chief cornerstone;” (Eph. 2:20 KJV).

34. YAOHUSHUA the Messiah told His listeners to search the Scriptures in John 5:39, and the only scriptures to search at that time were the Hebrew Old Testament writings. He also said to listen to Moses and the prophets, Luke 16:29. Again this is the Old Testament. And what did the “noble Bereans” use to determine truth? (Acts 17:11). Old Testament, of course, the very same ones that Paul told Timothy would make one perfect. (2 Tim. 3:16-17); all written in Hebrew.

35.  There are proof from the Revelation that Hebrew remains the Language of Israel in the future: Revelation 9:11: “And they had a king over them, who is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew language is Abaddon, but in the Greek language he hath his name Apollyon.” Revelation 16:16: “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Har Meguido (Mount Meguido)/’Armageddon’.”

36. There are many, many Hebrew expressions and idioms we find scattered throughout the Greek New Testament. If the originals had been Greek, then they would have been written with Greek form and expression. But they were not, and translated word for word into Greek, they make no sense at all. We understand hundreds of American idioms, but when translated into tagalog tongues, they make no sense at all, and would be unintelligible to us. A few examples of Hebrew idioms that the Savior used, that are impossible to understand when translated from Hebrew to Greek, then to English, but make perfect sense when translated back to Hebrew, then directly to English: a). Mat. 5:3, Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven . b). Luke 23:31, For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? c). Mat. 11:12, From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” (a well-known rabbinic interpretation of Micah 2:12-13. d). Luke 12:49-50, “I am come to send fire on the earth, and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how I am straitened till it be accomplished!”

37. Paul (Heb. "Shaul") was first and foremost a Pharisee - a Jewish sect opposed to Hellenization.  He was of the tribe of Benjamin and a "Hebrew of Hebrews," Philippians 3:5.   A note in the NIV Study Bible says the expression "Hebrew of Hebrews" means "in language, attitudes and life-style." Paul was educated at the feet of Gamaliel, a great doctor of Hebrew law, Acts 22:3.  Although he was born in Tarsus (a city speaking mainly Aramaic), Paul grew up in Jerusalem , the center of Pharisaic Judaism, Acts 22:3. The epistles Paul wrote were to various assemblies of the Dispersion.  Each assembly was composed of a nucleus group of Jews and supplementary collections of gentiles (read about the Thessalonian Assembly, Acts 17:1-4, as well as the Corinthians, 1 Cor. 10:1-2).  The converted Jews in these assemblies would receive Paul's letters and then teach the gentiles among them.  It wasn't the gentiles who were converting Jews to a Grecian-Roman faith with a Greek Savior and doctrines of mystery worship! Typically Paul went first to the synagogue when he traveled to contact these and other assemblies (Acts 13:14; 14:1; 17:1; 17:10, 18:4, 19:8).  The language of the second Temple and synagogues at this time was Hebrew and Aramaic, not Greek. His letters in Hebrew to these Jews (and gentiles) of the various assemblies would reflect his mission to take the Good News to "the Jew first and then to the Greek," Romans 1:16. As an example, Paul specifically addressed Jews of the Corinthian assembly:  "Moreover, brethren, I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea" (1 Cor. 10:1-2).

38. Believe the "Law and prophets" (refers to the Old Testament Scriptures.)"But this I confess unto you, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the ULHIM of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets" (Acts 24:14). Which culture, world-view, and mentality should prevail among True Worshipers today?  A Greek-gentile heritage?  Or the birthright of those grafted into the promised of Israel established by the Heavenly Father YAOHU Ulhim Himself? (Romans 9:4).

39.  It is also interesting to note that there are over 5366 manuscripts of the New Testament in Greek, each differing from the other and containing several hundred variants.  However, in each one of these manuscripts there are idioms (Hebraisms) which are almost meaningless in any language-including Greek--except in Hebrew!  How can such a thing be explained unless it is because the original New Testament was written in Hebrew by Hebrews (Jews)?

40. There are several external sources, i.e., outside of Scripture, pointing to Hebrew as the written language of the New Testament (Covenant), as many outstanding scholars have already and most eloquently provided. These sources are as follows: The Dead Sea Scrolls  were discovered by an Arab shepherd boy in the caves of Qumran, in the Judean wilderness in 1947.  It contained a huge treasure of Scripture: some 40,000 fragments of rolls, with 600 partial manuscripts, both scriptural as well as non-scriptural.  Of the ten major non-biblical scrolls published to date, only one, the Genesis Apocryphon, is in Aramaic. The most recently published scroll, and the longest to date (28 feet, equivalent to over 80 Old Testament chapters), is the now famous Temple Scroll, also written in Hebrew.  If one compares the total number of pages in these ten sectarian scrolls, they would find a nine-to-one ratio of Hebrew to Aramaic (179 pages in the nine Hebrew scrolls to 22 pages of Aramaic in the Genesis Apocryphon)." (Bivin and Blizzard). In one translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the authors state: “Prior to the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the dominant view of the Semitic languages of Palestine in this period was essentially as follows: Hebrew had died; it was no longer learned at mother´s kneee. It was known only by the educated classes through study, as as educated medieval Europeans knew Latin. Rabbinic Hebrew...was considered a sort of scholarly invention...artificial, not the language of life put to the page. The spoken language of the Jews had in fact become Aramaic..." (ibid.) “The discovery of the Scrolls swept these linguistic notions into the trash bin...the vast majority of the scrolls were Hebrew texts. Hebrew was manifestly the principal literary language for the Jews of this period. The new discoveries underlined the still living, breathing, even supple character of that language...proving that late Second-Temple Jews used various dialects of Hebrew.” (ibid.)

Another quote: “What was the language of ordinary life of educated native Jews in
Jerusalem and Judaea in the period from 400 BCE to 150 CE? The evidence presented by Mishnaic Hebrew and its literature leaves no doubt that that language was Mishnaic Hebrew.” (ibid.) The Dead Sea Scrolls were so determinant and the evidence so overwhelming that no less an authority than The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, in its first edition, in 1958, stated that “Hebrew had ceased to be a spoken language around the fourth century B.C.” (ibid.) However, in its third edition, in 1997, it had changed completely to: “Hebrew continued to be used as a spoken and written language...in the New Testament period." (ibid.)

41. The Talmud “To the Jewish people, it was Hebrew that was the ‘Holy Tongue’ whereas Aramaic was seen as ‘the language of the Evil Force.’” (ibid.) The Talmud states: “Four languages are of value: Greek for song, Latin for war, Aramaic for dirges, and Hebrew for speaking”. (ibid.)  Thus, HEBREW WAS FOR SPEAKING, just as the N.T. says in over a dozen verses above. “A father was to speak to his sons in Hebrew and to teach him the Torah. Not to do so, would be “as if he had buried him.” (ibid.)  “Whoever makes personal requests (in prayer) in Aramaic, the ministering angels pay no attention, since angels do not understand Aramaic.” (ibid.) The same Rabbi Gamaliel who was spoken of in Maasim ha Shlichim/Acts of the Sent ones/”Acts” 5:34-40, is quoted in the Talmud.  When shown an Aramaic translation of YAOAB (”Job”) he told the person who brought it: “bury it under the rubble.” (ibid.)  Such was the low opinion of Jewish scholars of Aramaic vis-a-vis Hebrew.

42. The issue of the New Testament being written in Greek or Aramaic was non-existent prior to the Fourth or Fifth Century A.D.  It has been a rather modern theory.  Thus, the questions are: What basis does the "Aramaic theory" have?  What are its external and internal proofs?  The answer is almost none.  There are a few, isolated words in Aramaic present in the New Testament (Covenant), which are far outweighed by Hebrew words.  It is like claiming that in the Philippines, the English is the main language, because they say “festival,” and “concert”! “Aramaisms” were exaggerated and still are, as the noted Jewish lexicographer Moses Segal states: “Aramaic influence on the Mishnaic Hebrew vocabulary has been exaggerated...it has been the fashion among writers on the subject to brand as an Aramaism any infrequent Hebrew word...Must of the ‘Aramaisms’ are as native in Hebrew as they are in Aramaic.” (Segal, 1994).

43. As far as the "Greek theory" is concerned, the only basis one can think of is the fact that the versions that are left are in the Greek language, and not one single copy remains of its Hebrew originals.  One of the last Hebrew originals (of Matthew) was burned publicly in Tours, France, in the mid-fifteenth century.  This is, admittedly, a good enough basis, provided all we have said above would not exist, i.e, the above statements by the church fathers, the Hebraisms, the idioms, the discovering from the Dead Sea Scrolls, Josephus, etc.

44. Throughout history, the Catholic Church and her daughters have had a consistent record of being very anti-Semitic or against Hebrew teachings and language most of the time over its 2,000 years of history.  For example, the Inquisition, with hundreds of thousands of YAOHU-dim (Jews)  tortured and slaughtered simply because of their being Jews.  For another example, the anti-Semitic statements by the fathers of the Church, such as Chrysosthom, Eusebius, Origen, Cyril, Hyppolitus, and, yes, even Marthin Luther, the father of the Reform, including a couple of brief paragraphs from the sermons of the Martin Luther that he wrote just four days before he died. "The Jews deserve the most severe penalties. Their synagogues should be razed to the ground, their homes destroyed. They themselves should be exiled to living in tents, like the gypsies. Their religious writings [the Old Testament and the Talmud] should be taken away from them. The Rabbis should be forbidden to teach the Torah. They should be forbidden to do any profession. Only the hardest, most strenuous work should be allowed to them. Their fortunes should be confiscated from them..." (Gritsch, ). "A Jewish heart is as hard as a stick, a stone, as iron, as a devil." (ibid.)  The famous historian, the late William Schirer, author of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, on page 294, says, "one of the two factors explaining the behavior of the German Church towards the Jews during the Holocaust is Luther's influence."

45.  Throughout the centuries there has been a Satan-led motion away from anything Jewish.  In this spirit, the Church was forbidden to celebrate Passover on the "Jewish", i.e., scriptural dates set for it, and had to do it on any other date EXCEPT the Jewish one.  Even today the Church celebrates "Easter," not Passover.  Those who insisted on celebrating Pessakh on the correct date were called "quatorcediman" from the fourteenth day of the first month, where Passover was ordained by ULHIM to be celebrated.  The Jewish sages' wisdom in the many-volumed Talmud, from where the Rabbi YAOHUSHUA drew countless parables and examples was condemned by all within the Church, including Luther, as we just quoted; not merely condemned but burned and their owners with it.  A sustained campaign of dejudaization began which continues to this day.

46. In Revelation 22:8 John says he witnessed these things; in 22:16 YAOHUSHUA says He sent an angel to YAOHU-khanam (John). We know YAOHUSHUA spoke Hebrew while on earth. We know John spoke Hebrew so here we have John and YAOHUSHUA speaking once again in Hebrew; otherwise, how would John have understood what YAOHUSHUA said to him from heaven? So here we see in the Old Testament that YAOHU Abihul (the Father) speaks Hebrew, the Son of Ulhim  as the Angel of YAOHU-Ulhim spoke Hebrew, the Rukha-YAOHU (Holy Spirit) speaks Hebrew, Our risen YAOHUSHUA still speaks in Hebrew as He did on earth, the seraphim speak Hebrew, angels speak Hebrew, we see the twenty-four elders, all of whom were Jewish men now in heaven, worshipping Ulhim and speaking Hebrew – in heaven, the four living creatures worship in Hebrew and we know they are in heaven, Gabriel spoke Hebrew, so we can come to the logical conclusion, that Hebrew is the main language spoken in heaven. There may be other languages, but they are not recorded in the scriptures.

47. The Hebrew New Testament or the Brit Chadashah was written by Hebrews (Jews), for Hebrews in a Hebraic culture. In order to fully understand the Brit Chadashah it should be understood through its original Hebraic context. Whilst the only manuscripts currently known to exist are those in the Greek (with the possible exception of the book of  Matthew ) the evidence suggests that much of it was originally writte in Hebrew and later it was translated into Greek when the Word was taken into the Greek world and then further into the world and praise YAOHU ULHIM, we now have translations into almost every language!

48. For many years it has been taught that Greek and Aramaic were language of the land during the Second Temple period. However, over the past fifty years or so, more and more evidence has surfaced that the prayer, Scriptural, documentation and general language of the Hebrews in Israel during the time of the Second Temple and when our Saviour walked the land, was in fact Hebrew and not only Aramaic.

49. Then there are the many scrolls and thousands of fragments uncovered in the Dead Sea Caves were written from between 100 CE and 70AD. Some of these scrolls and fragments are from a Biblical book, but others are secular works concerning day to day business. Of all of these scrolls and fragments, approximately 90% are written in Hebrew while only 5% are in Aramaic and there are just a few in Greek. While most of the Hebrew inscriptions use the Hebrew script, however there are some of them that still use the ancient Palaeo Hebrew script

50. In addition, all coins minted in Israel during the second Temple period include inscriptions in Hebrew. The coin above you will note has an inscription in Hebrew script with the simple inscription “Yerushalayim" (Jerusalem). On the other side it had the word “Shema” (“hear”) in Palaeo Hebrew. This is the first word from Deuteronomy chapter 6:4. “Hear O YAOSHORUL (Israel), YAOHU our ULHIM, YAOHU is One (Echad).”

If Christianity were honest with itself, it would openly acknowledge that it derives its faith from Hebrew and not Greco-Roman Scriptures.  That its salvation comes from a Savior who came as a Hebrew not to establish a new religion but to build on what went before.  YAOHUSHUA the MESSIAH and the Scriptures are Hebrew.

If this one pivotal truth were taught today, real understanding of the Scriptures would break out everywhere, and the Scriptures would at last be revealed the true Name of the Creator and the Messiah.

HAOLUL-YAOHU ULHIM!  AMNAM! YAOHU Ulhim bless you all.

“Teach me Your way, O YAOHU. I will walk in Your truth. Unite my heart to fear Your Name!”  Psalms 86:11

Let’s start our studies using Bible School and Secular References to prove that name “Jesus”per se has no substantial  meaning to be derived with by educated and professional mind.  It must always be connected to Hebrew Names Jehoshua, and Joshua, otherwise, it would be an empty and useless name.

1.)   Dr. James Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, in his Greek Dictionary of the New Testament.

SG2424 Iesous [pronounced ee-ay-sooce'Of Hebrew origin [H3091]; Jesus  (that is, Jehoshua), the name of our Lord.  says his name is “of Hebrew origin [H3091]” and that its origin was “Jehoshua”,

2.)  Wuest Word Studies in the Greek New Testament :

"... Jesus Christ (Iesous Christos), Iesous, (pronounced yay'-soos) the transliterated form of the Hebrew word we know as Jehoshua, which means, “Jehovah saves;” Christos, the transliterated form of the Greek word which means “The Anointed One; ...”

3.)  Word studies in the New Testament, by Marvin R. Vincent---

"Jesus. The Greek form of a Hebrew name, which had been borne by two illustrious individuals in former periods of the Jewish History --- Joshua, the successor of Moses, and Jeshua, the high priest, who with Zerubbabel took so active a part in the re-establishment of the civil and religious polity of the Jews in their return from Babylon. Its original and full form is Jehoshua, becoming by contraction Joshua or Jeshua."

4.)  The Acts of the Apostles, by Jackson and Lake

"Jesus--- This is the regular Greek translation of the Hebrew Joshua."

5.)  Smith's Bible Dictionary:

"Jesus Christ ---- The name Jesus means Savior, and was a common name, derived from

the ancient Hebrew Jehoshua."

6.)  A dictionary of the Bible, by James Hastings

"Jesus -- The Greek form of the name Joshua or Jeshua. Jeshua ---- Yahweh is Salvation or Yahweh is opulence."

8.)  Encyclopedic Dictionary of Religion:

"Jesus (The Name) --- Matthew's gospel explains it as symbolic of His mission, 'For he will save His people from their sins.' This agrees with the popular meaning as 'Yahweh saves...' " p.1886

9.)  Catholic Encyclopedia:

"The Sacred Name ---- The word Jesus is the Latin form of the Greek "Iesous" which in turn is the transliteration of the Hebrew Jeshua, or Joshua, or again Jehoshua, meaning 'Jehovah is Salvation' " Vol. 8, p. 374

10.) The New Catholic Encyclopedia, Volume 7, pages 970-971,

JESUS (THE NAME). In English the name Jesus is a transliteration of the Latin form Iesus, which represents the Greek form Ihsouz  of the Hebrew name ye-šûa`. The latter is a late form, by vowel dissimilation, of the name yôšûa`, itself a contracted form of yhôšûa`, "Yahweh is salvation." This was the name of Moses' successor. *Josue (Joshua), son of Nun. Both because of the fame of this early hero of Israel and because of the meaning of the name, many men both in the OT and in the NT bore the name of Josue or Jesus. The Septuigint generally uses the Greek form Ihsouz where the Hebrew text has the form yôšûa` or y'hôšûa`. So also the NT, in referring to Josue, son of Nun, calls him Jesus (Acts 7:45; Heb 4:8). An allusion is made in Mt. 1:21 to the meaning of the name ("Yahweh is salvation"): Joseph is told by the angel of the Lord to name the child born of Mary's virginal conception "Jesus, for he shall save his people from their sins.".

11. )  The Dictionary of New Testament Theology, Volume 2, pages 330-331, gives us more information about this widely accepted, yet incorrect name.

Ihsuvz Ihsuz (Iesous), Jesus, OT Ie-sous is the Gk. form of the OT Jewish name Ye-šûa`, arrived at by transcribing the Heb. and adding an -s to the nom. to facilitate declension. Ye-šûa` (Joshua) seems to have come into general use about the time of the babylonian exile in place of the older Yehôsûa . The LXX rendered both the ancient and more recent forms of the name uniformly as Ie-sous... It is the oldest name containing the devine name Yahweh, and means "Yahweh is help" or "Yahweh is salvation" (cf. the vb. yasa`, help, save). Joshua also appears in one post-exilic passage in the Heb. ot (Neh. 8:17) as Ye-šûa` the son of Nun, and not as in the older texts Yehôšoa.

12.)  The Encyclopedia Dictionary of the Bible, by Louis Hartman, pages 1141-1142, :

Jesus. This name in english is a transcription of the Latin Jesus, which represents the Greek form, Ihsouz, of the Hebrew name, yeša` (à Jesua), itself a late form, by vowel dissimilation, of yoša` (Jesua), a contracted form of yehosa` , "Yahweh is salvation."

The form Yeshua or Jesus was a deliberate change from the original Name YAOHUSHUA, as the same pages of this same source shows:

Jesua. In the last few centuries before Christ the personal name, yosa was pronounced and written as yeša.

This new name Yeshua was being used as the replacement for YAOHUSHUA's true Name, by the time the Septuagint (LXX) was beginning to be translated. The Greek word written in this version to replace the name that had replaced YAOHUSHUA's Name, is Ihsouz - a direct transliteration of the Hebrew word Yeshua.

The next version of the Bible, after the Greek Septuagint (LXX), was the Vulgate—attributed to Jerome. In the year 383 C.E., Jerome began to work on this Latin Version. He undertook the revision of the Old Testament directly from the Septuagint Version.

In the Septuagint, the Name of YAOHU was replaced with the Greek word, Kyrios - Lord. In the Latin Vulgate, Jerome directly translated the Greek word Kyrios - Lord to the Latin word for Lord - Dominus. In the Latin Vulgate, Jerome transliterated the Greek word Ihsouz to the Latin, Iesus.

In fact, on page 290, this same work not only tells us that the name "Jesus" fails to convey any of the glory of YAOHU  (which is contained in the Name YAOHUSHUA), but also that it is actually the masculine form of the name of a pagan Goddess.

H. Lamer believes that the Gk. Jesu is a masculine form of Ihaw, the goddess of salvation, for which we have the form Ihsw, in Herond, Mim., iv. 642.

42Philol. Wochenschr., 50 (1930), 764 f. The goddess Ihsw, is the only figure in Gk. mythology which can be brought into relation with Jesus.

13.)  Interpreter's Bible: (Note on Matt. 1:21)

"Jesus: for He shall save: The play on words (Yeshua, Jesus; yoshia, shall save) is possible in Hebrew but not in Aramaic. The name Joshua means "Yahweh is salvation"

14.)  Matthew Henry's Commentary(on Matthew 1:21)

"Jesus is the same name with Joshua, the termination only being changed, for the sake of conforming it to the greek."

1.)  Random House, Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary, copyrighted 1997, pg. 1027:

Je·su…n. Literary, Jesus. [1150 – 1200; ME < LL Iesu, obl. (orig. voc.) form of Iesus <Gk Iesou; see JESUS]

Je·sus…[1200 – 1250; ME < LL Iesus < Gk Iesous < Heb Yeshua’, syncopated var. (variation) of Yehoshua…]

2.)  Encyclopedia Americana:

"Jesus Christ--- ...Although Matthew (1:21) interprets the name originally Joshua, that is, 'Yahweh is Salvation,' and finds it specially appropriate for Jesus of Nazareth, it was a common one at that time." (Vol.16, p. 41)

3.)  Encyclopedia Britannica (15th ed.)

"Jesus Christ---...The same is true of the name Jesus. In the Septuagint it is the customary Greek form for the common Hebrew name Joshua;" (Vol. 10 p.149)

4.)  Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joshua or Yehoshúa [From] (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ "The LORD of/is help/court", Standard Hebrew Yəhošúaʿ, Tiberian Hebrew Yəhôšuªʿ) is a Biblical character, much of whose life is described in the Book of Joshua. The lack of a vav after the shin would normally indicate a pronunciation of Yehoshēa`, and in three places he is actually called Hoshēa. In Greek he is called Ιησούς (Iēsoûs) του Ναυή, the same as the name of Jesus of Nazareth and others bearing the Hebrew name Yēshua`. The name Joshua means "God is my savior". He may be a historical figure, and would have lived sometime between the 18th century BC and the late 13th century BC.

5.)  American Heritage Dictionary, the etymological origin of "Jesus" is:

Jesus ..Middle English, from Late Latin Isus, from Greek Isous, from Hebrew yû‘, from yhôûa‘, Joshua...

6.)  Webster’s Concise American Family Dictionary endorsed by Billy Graham and other great Christian leaders on page 282, the meaning of "Jesus" is:

              Jesus …Yeshua… variance of Yahôshûa.

Conclusion: With the presence of all these authoritative references as of this day, it can be concluded then, that "Jesus Christ " was not the Messiah's name or not even the sounds or resemblance when He walked the earth 2000 years ago. In the quote just shown the references and authors are stating that JESUS CHRIST  is a Greek and Latin Name trying to connect  to the names of Hebrew Jehoshua, Joshua, Jeshua, Yehoshua to appear as saviour and borrow it meaning.
